So – the Clinton camp thinks they have a winning campaign topic by resurrecting the “Birther” conspiracy (Can you say DESPERATION? Sure – I knew you could.) It doesn’t matter that Hillary’s first presidential campaign started it, and that Trump hasn’t been bringing it up; after all, we’re living in a media circus where, if the Democratic nominee collapses and has to be tossed unconscious in a van like a sack of potatoes, it brings the Republican nominee’s health into question. An illustration of the hypocrisy of a GUN CONTROL ADVOCATE being guarded by people WITH GUNS becomes inciting violence. Twisting (and turning) in the wind…
I saw someone on CNN advocating for instant poll results on election day – to give immediate, live projections. Why? I think they just don’t have the patience to wait for the results. They think it will inspire people to go on social media and get their friends to vote if their candidate is behind. I think instead we’ll have the same thing we had in the Florida panhandle in 2000 – people not bothering to go to the polls because they’ve been told it’s already over. Or we’ll be subjected to piling on by people who want to say they were on the winning side.
Myriad possible unintended consequences. Why mess with it?
The experts don’t know what they don’t know about this election. Polls are all over the map. I don’t think anyone will KNOW what’s going to happen until it’s over. Ignore the polls – learn what you can about the candidates, and vote your conscience about who’s best for America – that’s all that really matters.
